Hip Hop / Breaking

Hip Hop Dance is a movement style characterized by bounces and rocks, executed to Hip Hop music. It has deep historical and social roots in African American culture, having emerged in Black communities living in 1970s New York.

Students enrolled in Hip Hop classes will receive technical training to support their embodiment of Hip Hop Culture. Hip Hop is a essentially a movement that represents the freedom to learn, grow, and evolve. We provide movement tools support our students' ability to freestyle and apply the movement language as a positive form of release.

Breaking (often called breakdancing by popular media) is the original dance style that came out of the Hip Hop community. It started out with these 5 core movements: Top Rocks, Fast Footwork, Back Rocks, Freezes, and Power Moves.

Commercial Jazz/K-pop

Commercial Jazz/K-pop

Commercial Jazz is a highly choreographed dance form that fuses elements of Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, and Pop. This style is often seen in music videos, commercials, and live performances. The stylized fusion dance form is applied to the popularized genre of K-pop. Students enrolled in our Commercial Jazz classes will receive broader training that combines elements of various dance styles to improve the skill of learning and executing choreography.

K-pop dance combines elements of hip hop and jazz, choreographed specifically to Korean Pop music. The choreography often incorporates catchy and repetitive movements that complement the song’s lyrics. K-pop classes provide training in sharp movements, body isolations, and rhythmic precision to execute the choreography like your favorite K-pop idols!

Ballet

Ballet

Discover the elegance and discipline of Ballet. Our Ballet classes are designed to help students develop technique, posture, flexibility, and balance. Younger children especially respond well to the structure and progression of Ballet. Students enrolled in Ballet will train in Barre work, Center, work, Across the floor combinations, Performance skills, and eventually Pointe work. Often considered a foundational dance technique, Ballet training will provide tools and skills that are applicable towards other dance styles including Theater Jazz and Contemporary Dance.

Theatre Jazz/Broadway Jazz

Theatre Jazz/Broadway Jazz

Bring out your inner star in our Theatre Jazz classes! Theatre Jazz, evolved on Broadway in the 1950s, is a style of dance which includes traditional jazz dance technique with the addition of storytelling and character work. The technique incorporates turns, jumps, and kicks with an emphasis on athleticism, precision, and expressive gestures. Similar to Ballet, Theatre Jazz classes implement a balance of structure and self-expression that is especially productive for younger children.

Contemporary Dance/Contemporary Fusion

Contemporary Dance/Contemporary Fusion

Contemporary dance is a genre that developed during the 20th century that embraces innovation. The interpretive dance style blends techniques from various genres including classical ballet, modern dance, and jazz. Contemporary dance isn’t restricted by rules that govern traditional concert dance techniques. Instead, it relies on improvisation and is characterized by freedom of movement. In our contemporary dance classes, students will receive technical training composed of dynamic movement, floor work, and intricacy. Beyond the physical movement, students will be encouraged to explore their mind-body connection, improvisation, and self-expression.

Contemporary Fusion is a further evolved genre of dance. What makes a Contemporary Fusion class different from Contemporary dance class? Contemporary Fusion implements characteristics of street styles and focuses more on musicality. Classes will apply the movement quality and dynamics found in Contemporary dance into learning sequences choreographed to popular music.

Heels dance

Heels dance

Elevate your confidence and tap into your femininity in our Heels dance classes! Heels classes are designed for students to discover the power of strutting in heels with confidence. Heels choreography incorporates stylistic elements of jazz dance and latin dance. Classes will involve sassy walks, floor-ography, hair-ography. If you aren’t interested in wearing heels but want to learn the dance style, don’t fret! All students are welcome to take classes in sneakers as well.

Yoga / Mat Pilates

Yoga / Mat Pilates

Yoga as a practice improves strength, focus, and physical awareness, adding value to all aspects of movement. Yoga classes will unite your breath with your body, offering a variety of poses accessible to students of all levels. Build core strength and range of motion while finding fluidity and ease. Yoga is designed to help reduce stress, decrease anxiety, and connect to inner peace.

Mat Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise performed on a mat that focuses on your core (trunk) muscles while also training your arms and legs. Pilates improves strength, stability, posture, breath control, and flexibility. Classes will be taught using slow, controlled movements. The exercises can be practiced anywhere and modified for any age, body, or fitness level.

Zumba

Zumba

Zumba is an interval-style dance fitness party that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves. It is an aerobic exercise that improves cardiovascular health, lowers your blood pressure, and helps your lungs work more efficiently. Powered by Latin and World music, Zumba is a fun, social and effective way to achieve your fitness goals!
