Melissa is a dancer and choreographer in styles including heels, street styles jazz, and contemporary. She is a former rhythmic and aesthetic group gymnast, and currently trains in acrobatics and Frame Up Strip. She began choreographing and teaching in 2021, leading numerous
jazz and contemporary numbers from China and Toronto to perform at gala showcases in international gymnastics tournaments. Her credits include reaching the finals of world championships for aesthetic group gymnastics and being a member of Laventure Heels dance crew
and X-factory dance crew. She recently choreographed and performed dance film “Everything Everywhere Ever” exhibited at Project Row Houses. Melissa's movement emphasizes the use of lines and changes in detailed textures, exploring the interplay between tenderness and fierceness, creating depictions of individual voice and power.
